The Courage of Opening Up to Feeling

There are songs that we listen to over and over again without stopping to think about why they come to us.

A few days ago I listened again to "Me muero por conocerte", by Álex Ubago.

And I kept thinking about a question:

How many times in life have we wanted to get closer to live something... but we have been waiting?

Waiting for the right moment.

A sign.

More security.

More clarity.

A guarantee that everything will go well.

And while we wait, life goes on.....

Maybe fear doesn't always feel like fear

Sometimes he disguises himself as prudence.

"I'm going to wait a bit."

"Now is not the time."

"I'd better not get my hopes up."

"We'll see what happens."

And maybe, in some cases, waiting is exactly what we need.

But other times I wonder:

I'm waiting because I really need time...

Or because I'm afraid to find out the answer?

There are things that we can only know when we get closer

We can imagine a conversation.

Think about how the other will react.

Anticipate all scenarios.

Build a complete story in our head.

But there is something that imagination cannot do for us:

Check the reality

That only happens when we take a step.

Maybe not a big step.

Maybe just a question.

A message.

A pending conversation.

An invitation.

Or just dare to say what we really feel.

And this is where the song makes me think

"I'm dying to meet you."

What does it mean to you?

It can be a person.

But it can also be a new version of you.

A conversation that you've been postponing for some time.

A decision.

A place.

A project.

A stage that you still don't dare to start.

Then I ask you:

What is that that you are dying to know... but you have not yet come close to discovering?

Maybe you don't need to be sure

Maybe you just need determination to take the next step.

Because there are answers that never come while we remain at a distance.

And sometimes, what we need is not to think more.....

It's getting closer.

Observe.

Ask.

Talk.

Release.

Take a step.

And find out what's really on the other side!!!!!

A question for today
