¿What if the Experience was the Engine and not the Brake?

" The Echo of Discepolo"

Dancing tango

There is a line in the tango "UNO," by Enrique Santos Discépolo, which resonates more strongly when it is over 50 years old. He says: "If I could like yesterday, without a hunch!"

It is the claim of those who discover that the years, in addition to experience, bring us a companion that sometimes gets in the way because of her weight: Anticipation.

The Tyranny of Experience

"One is so alone in his pain"

"One is so blind in his pain"

"If I had a heart ❤️ the same one I lost..."

At the age of twenty, we threw ourselves into the world with a blindfold. No

We "presented" the impact because we didn't have a file of scars. We lived in an absolute present.

Today, the look is different. When projecting the future, our mind makes a quick scan of past blows." Presentir" is, deep down, a defense mechanism; a voice that whispers: "Be careful, it can hurt." But, at what cost? Sometimes, to avoid the trip, we simply stop walking, without movement there is no healing we have to move forward to close.

The Courage of the "Second Innocence"

Discépolo wrote his songs from a melancholy that seemed definitive, but we have the opportunity to give a complete turn to his tango. The true mastery of life is not in ignoring risks (that is naivety), but in recognizing them and, even so, deciding to act.

The second Innocence is knowing that the world has its complications and that the endings exist, but choosing - by will and determination - to bet again like that "yesterday". It is an opportunity that we cannot refuse after the age of 50.

Decide Despite the Premontion:

"I would embrace your illusion"

Reaching this stage does not make us immune to fear; it makes it clearer.

Fear is natural. It is the answer of those who understand the value of what they have built. But fear must warn, not stop.

If today you are facing something you really want - a project, a change of course or an important decision - do not confuse intuition with paralysis.

At this age, time ceases to be a promise and becomes a resource. Experience should help us to choose better, not to remain motionless.

Because, in the end, few things weigh more than not having acted when we already knew what we wanted.

Let intuition drive, fear limits you.
