Vision Board: The Visual Map To Your Dreams

¿Have you ever felt that your goals are there, spinning in your mind, but you can't achieve them? Today I want to share with you one of the most powerful and fun tools that I recommend with my coaches: the vision board.
Prepare a cup of tea ☕, make yourself comfortable, and join me on this approximately 4-minute tour that can change the way you pursue your dreams.
What is a Vision Board and why does it work?
A vision board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams and aspirations. It works because our brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text, and when you constantly see your goals, your subconscious mind starts working to turn it into reality.
It's not about magic, it's about focus and conscious action

Objectives of Creating your Vision Board
At the end of this exercise, you should achieve:
Clarify your goals in all areas of your life
✅ Visualize a concrete and motivating future
✅ Program your mind towards positive action
✅ Keep the daily focus on what really matters
✅ Check your progress in a tangible way
The Importance of Visualizing Your Goals
Numerous studies in positive psychology support this practice. When we visualize:
- We activate the same brain areas as when we perform the action
- We increase our motivation and commitment
- We turn the abstract into something tangible and measurable
- We reinforce positive habits through visual repetition
It is no coincidence that elite athletes, successful entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world use this technique.
Step by Step: Creating your Vision Board
Reflect before creating
Before searching for images, initial formats to ask yourself:
¿What do you want to achieve in the next 12-24 months?
¿How do you want to feel?
Previous Questions
Before starting your vision board, take 10-15 minutes with these complementary questions. I recommend that you write your answers and keep them
About your present
¿What area of my life do I feel needs more attention right now?
¿What emotions predominate in my daily life today?
¿What stories or beliefs have I been telling myself that maybe don't work for me anymore?
About your goals
¿If I wasn't afraid of failure, what would I dare to dream?
¿Is this goal mine or is it an external expectation (family, society, social networks)?
¿How will I know, specifically, that I have achieved this that I visualize?
About the feeling behind the dream
¿What emotion do I seek to feel when I achieve this? (Freedom, security, joy, peace...)?
¿Is there another way to generate that same emotion in my current life, while I work towards the goal?

Choose your format
📌 Opción Manual:
- Cardboard or letter size sheets or similar
- Magazines to cut
- Scissors, glue, markers
- Motivational phrases printed or handwritten
💻 Digital Option(Canva):
- Create a free account on Canva
- Search for the "Vision Board" template
- Use your image bank or upload your own photos
- Export in high quality to print or use as wallpaper
Add powerful and positive affirmations
Complement the images with phrases in the first person and present tense:
- "I am a prosperous and abundant person"
- "I enjoy healthy and loving relationships"
- "My body is strong and healthy"
Place it in a visible place
Your vision board must be where you see it daily:
- Next to your bedside table
- As wallpaper
- In a mirror that you use daily
- How to save cell phone screens
Tips Extra de tu Life Coach
- Review it every day, create your routine and save at least 2-3 minutes, visualizing how you will feel when you achieve it.
- Update it every 6 months or when you feel that your goals evolve
- Without action it's just a wish list: the vision board inspires, but you execute
To avoid
Fill it with "what I should want"
Include goals because "socially they look good" (the perfect house, the luxury car) instead of what really makes you vibrate.
Ask yourself: is this my dream or someone else's dream that I adopted as my own?
To be too generic
Put an image of "travel" without specifying. It is not the same to want to "travel" than to visualize specifically "walking through the streets of Kyoto in spring." The more specific, the more powerful the emotional connection.
Forget the "why"
Focus only on the "what" (the object, the achievement) without connecting with the feeling you are looking for. The vision board is not a list of material wishes, it is an emotional map.
Create it and forget it
The most common mistake: make the board with enthusiasm... and put it in a drawer. Without daily viewing, it loses 80% of its effectiveness.
Not aligning vision with action
Visualizing without an action plan behind it is just daydreaming. Your vision board must be accompanied by specific goals and steps.
Compare your board with that of others
Every road is unique. What inspires someone else may not resonate with you, and it's perfect that way.
Reflect
Creating a vision board is not just a creative exercise, it is an act of commitment to yourself. It's telling yourself that your dreams matter and you deserve to work for them.
About the commitment
Am I willing to take awkward action to achieve this?
What am I willing to release or sacrifice to prioritize this vision?
About the "future self"
How does the version of me that has already achieved these goals look, feel and act?
What advice would that future version give me today?
Ready to get started? I invite you to start your vision board. I would love to see your vision come true!
